Axe gift sets $3.5

There are a few ways you can score great on these....
They are 9.99 at Target butttt that is not what you will pay.
There is a printable $3 off one ...just google it and it will pop up.
Target has a a $2 off two sets and they have the 5 gift card when you buy two.
If you can print two of the $3 off and use the target $2 off you already have $8 bucks off. Plus that $5 gift card so that is $13 bucks off making your $20 purchase only $3.5 each after your deals. Nice score!!!

Christmas is almost HERE

Ok I know we haven't had Thanksgiving yet but the green and red are popping up everywhere. This is the last weekend before crazy after Thanksgiving sales. The can be great but try not to go over board. Set your limit and stick to it EVEN if it is on sale.
Do not make the mistake of late shopping. You will spend too much and want to pull your hair out. Not to mention all those sales people hate the person strolling in Christmas Eve. This weekend go out and get something done like your stockings or two gifts. Make your lists and check them with the budget. Oh and don't use you shinny credit card. It is evil and comes back to haunt you with 22% or more interest. Yuck!!!!!! Suddenly your sales look welllllll...not so much like a sale.
If you listened to my blog last year then you stocked up on gifts all year long. But never fear you can watch your pennies and start fresh next year. Stay strong in this time of spending sprees. You can be savvy and not weighed down with debt when Jan comes around.

Check out the Facebook page to get the link so you can get 20 free photo Christmas cards.
Saving money already and it feels good!

One Down One to GO.....CONGRATS GRAD!!!!

I would like to give a shout out to my Hubby!!! He has been so patient and supportive as we have started our “Budget Journey”. After we got married we decided that even though we both had a college degree to finish we would NOT use student loans. They were just not for us and with BOTH of us finishing a degree we knew student loans would stack ups  and haunt us for a LONG time.

I am so proud because My Husband finish his degree last year and has just now received his diploma in the mail (I know they took forever getting us that piece of paper)……..However, It now hangs proudly in our home as a trophy of his hard work. Not only did he complete it but we have no loans to pay off and no pile of debt stacking around us. It is encouraging to me as well because I see it hanging and know that soon mine will be hanging next to his. It may be a longer journey to the degree finish line but let me tell you finishing loan free is so FREEING!!!!

Stay tuned for the announcement of my completion and be encouraged YOU can do this too and without the DEBT!!

CONGRATS HUBBY YOU DID IT!!!

Sorry for the pause..........

WOW saving buddies it has been awhile. Life in the fast lane seems to be getting faster. However, we cannot let the fast lane cause us to spend money fast for the sake of convenience. This past weekend I did a short shopping trip and I would like to encourage you with my savings.

I did a King Soopers and Macy's shop and made out like a bandit.

Since life has been so busy I seem to have less and less time to cut coupons. BUTTTTT I don't let that stop me. I took 10 mins to prep this shop and save $93 dollars Total before savvy savings was around $140.... after my shopping ways it was $47. I can teach you how to do this too. You just have to stay on track and watch the savings.

King Soopers had their buy 10 get $5 off sale so that made the shop there a big find. That was the bulk of my savings.

 I bought..

2 Pies

2 bags of sugar

9 crescent roles

6 cinna rolls

2 Silks

1 Dish Soap

1 Bagged dinner

8 Soups

2 Luncheon meats (I forgot to put them in the picture)

Chances are you will notice that my items go towards making meals on a dime... the soups and the rolls.... easy makes for a dinner on a dime pinch.

The King Soopers shop before coupons was $100 after $41 WOW

Now in the pic you see I have a serving bowl and a pizza cutter.

These came from a Macy's Score!!! Yesterday they had a promo running that if you sign up for text alerts you get $10 to spend at the store .....mix that with the Holiday sales they had for Vets Day and a 15% off coupon and you get two itemsfor $6.Without all the sales and promo they would be $35. WHO says you cannot shop on a DIME!!!!!

Watching deals and stocking up saves us so much money. Email me at Buddieswithbargains@gmail.com to get in the know about how to save!!!

 Happy Savings!!

SCHOOL DEBT

Let’s Talk School Debt for a Min!
Yesterday as I ran on the treadmill I was intrigued by a news story on debt. It was interesting that in a gym filled with people that the reality TV was getting more attention than this channel. They had a young girl being interviewed on how she will have school debt till she is 50- 60 years old the way things are. WOW that is ridiculous.
The news report went on to show that 3.6 interests would almost double to 6.4ish for school loans. WHAT ?????   My concern with this is that the students accepted it. They were not happy but continued to say they would be victim to these debts. My question to all you students out there is WHY? Do you have to go to a university that is clearly out of you price range? Could you not work early and save for college? Could you not work while in school? OH and could you not take a semester here and there as you could afford it? There is no shame in saying NO to debt.
Now not all school loans are bad and they can be helpful. However, if you know you won’t be able to even pay it back or are just taking the easy road what is your excuse? Student loans will be even more costly so don’t act shocked in a year or two. They are telling you now! Who said you have to finish your degree in a time frame that clearly you cannot afford to shell out that kind of money in? The answer is YOU.
When you go to college you are earning a degree. The key word is YOU not your parents and not the banks. Students lets stand up EARN our degrees. I hate when I hear kids acting like their parents have to pay for their college. I mean if your parents can afford it that is great but if not you can do it. Your parents raised you and that should be enough. Remember they owe you NOTHING but love.   So what if you have to work a little harder and keep a job while taking classes or you have to spread the classes out…….. SO WHAT?
You can have the school debt till you are 50-60 or you can take maybe 4-8 years to get your degree. I encourage all of you graduates with loans to work to pay down the debt sooner rather than later. There is no reason if you have the debt that you cannot get rid of it either.
Parents if you are encouraging your children to get school loans speak to them first. Make sure your child understands what the loans are and what are included. Most college goers sign the papers and have no idea the mechanics behind them. They might not even understand that a college job is what they need to afford their way until they are already wrapped under the school debt bills. If they had known they might have said NO! Also parents you have to understand what the loans are about too.  More and more parents are seeing how bad these loans can be for a young adult.
My advice is to steer clear and work harder to earn you degree. Most of my classmates don’t have jobs and it is a shame. Oh and one last thing when I say job I mean you actually work 30-40 hours a week. It is a proven fact that those that work while going to school actually get better grades.
It is more important than ever for people watch their debt.

Second Hand Saves

Let’s talk Second Hand!!!
I know some of you love it and some of you hate it. BUT there is no doubt that it is an amazing tool to locate deals.
If you are reading my blog chances are you are not rolling in the dough OR you are AWFUL with money management. 9 times out of 10 the reason you are short on the green is because you are living out of your means.
I hear so much from people that they just cannot do second hand. PISH POSH Swallow your ego and stop acting like a child. You can pick and choose your second hand finds so just be smart about them. Just because it is used does not mean EEWW
I have prided myself in if I don't need to spend full price why should I??? I will hunt at Goodwill, garage sales, Craigslist, and anywhere I know I can save. SO much of my furniture and clothing come from second hand places it isn't even funny.
I was taught to save from one of the very best. I see most people were never taught to save. This generation has an instant gratification attitude or just doesn’t take responsibility for their spending habits.
How about you change your thought process to what you can afford!

Here are a few Craigslist tips if you have never tried it before!

1)      If you want something ACT FAST!!
2)      Search Misspellings and several names
3)      If it is already a good deal do not haggle. Chances are they have 10 ppl already wanting it.
4)      However……If you don’t need to snag it right away haggle down the price.
5)      Be smart don’t ever go alone to pick up items.
6)      Make sure other ppl are expecting to hear from you at a certain time after you pick up items so they know that you are ok.
7)      When you arrange pick up do it sooner rather than later. You wait too long they have a chance to change their mind or sell it to someone else.
8)      The best chance of snagging a find is to refresh the desired page till you see one pop up. This way you can snag it ASAP.
9)      If the ad has a phone number call instead of email. I always call first then email if I left a message.
10)   Be patient!! Some things take longer but in the end can save you tons!
